The newest member of the family.... Leighton Rigby Minnich! She was born on Labor Day cuz who doesn't deliver on labory day? She looks a smidge like her older brother Owen and is damn cute. Meredith is a great helper and very good at it too. During our visit we got to watch "O-Man" football game and he is a playa! Pretty intense for his age. It was fun. The family is doing quite well and we can't wait to go back to see her!

The Dreaded First Day!

August 24, 2009 - the last first day for my little Scooter! boo hoo! he's so happy he was giddy. Kyle, though he would never admit it, was excited too! normally he would never wear a pink tie dye shirt but he was a CMT rep. They were both a little dissapointed that the fog wasn't a little worse? So we're off! It's non-stop running from now until June. Goodluck everyone!

AYBT National Champions!

The boys won the AYBT National Championship tourney on July 21 in Ft Wayne at the Spiece center. They finished 17-8 for the season. We went 2-2 into the tournament draw so ended up in the lower division which worked in our favor apparently. After getting beat by Jay Co and Findlay (two teams we had previously beaten) we won the rest of our games. We beat a team from Michigan that were very colorful and I don't just mean their skin tone. Our boys heard some words they've never heard before. Most of our kids had never heard the word "cracker" used in that content. There was a little rumble between the fans after a so-called jump ball with 1.8 seconds was called when Kyle got picked up and thrown to the ground. but "It's just basketball" and they are "Just kids". We were almost flawless in the final game and it was fun to watch. (from our side of the stands) the final score was a little lopsided but we've been on the other end more than our fair share. So CONGRATULATIONS boys! We are So Damn proud of you! You always, always give it 100% and play to the end. You deserve it. See you at Cedar Point.

Scoot was asked by our neighbors to watch their pigs for a few short days while they were camping. Seems simple enough. Solo the dog jumped into the pen so Scoot opened the gate to let him out and didn't seem to get it completely shut. The next morning we get a call that 6 of the 9 were roaming the neighborhood. A search party was sent out on 4 wheelers and a couple hours later they found them. They had almost made it to the dairy? go figure? Pigs are stupid BUT here they are going home. Sorry Dani, Tanner and Tyler! It really wasn't a conspiracy.

The Quest Continues ... Melon & Devon

. . . it was my lucky night. Not only was Devon Golden in town to run track for Wapak but her good friend Melon Eickholt came to watch! The quest for famous people pictures is "my definition of famous"and I consider these two to be very famous in the high school sports world. These two are the most competitive high school girls basketball players that I have seen in a long time. I admire both of them for their accomplishments this year. They were very fun to watch this year. I wish you guys great success in college.

State Tournament

Kyle is fortunate to have his birthday fall during state tournament. Single handedly the best 3 days of his life. When I was pregnant and on bed rest for him, days away from delivery, Ron left me home alone to go to state tournament so Kyle was destined to love it too. Non-stop basketball games and hotel tag with his friends and a diet of donatos and dippin dots, who could ask for anything more?

As I have "blogged" before, I stalk people who I consider famous. Between games on Friday Bob Huggins was in St Johns parking lot so I shamelessly asked for a picture then I couldn't get him off me. you see when I lived in Columbus I worked at an office who's office supply salesman was no other than Larry Huggins (Bob's younger and much cuter brother). I ,of course, used that I knew Larry to get the picture and then we were instant BFF's. He invited me to Larry's camper that was parked at the Holiday Inn for a party that I graciously declined. It's not that I didn't want to see Larry I just didn't want to go with Mr Hands. I just want the picture to put on my facebook.

The St Mary's Royals

Over the weekend we traveled to Columbus for an all St Mary's Catholic Church tournament. It was only St Mary's named churches in the state. There were 9 teams from all over. It was a 7th and 8th grade tournament but the majority was 8th. Our team lost both games and didn't advance but it was fun. We competed. Kyle knew one of the boys from the Cincinnati squad from his Moeller basketball camp. The kid was amazing and almost dunked it on a fast break. Dr Bidlack brought his Buckeye RV and between games we tailgated -complete with cornhole. The tournament was at the St Mary's church in German Village. The highlight of the weekend though came with my quest to stalk Buckeye athletes when... we were at the hotel pool and Ron struck up a conversation with a women (he says she started talking to him first) who was asking about the Buckeye RV in the parking lot (Dr Bidlacks) when he found out who it was is when I got involved... Beanie's mom was in town for a NFL scouting session at Ohio State! We became instant BFF's... (sorry Jill) she is hoping he gets drafted for Jacksonville, the NFL told her they prefer if the parents move with the athletes who are under 21. She gave us a "Beanie Wells T-shirt". and I couldn't figure out that damn cell phone camera and didn't get a picture. I needed Katie. I told her to have Beanie call me. I'll let ya know how that turns out.

Spent the end of 2008 in Columbus with some good friends and the Ohio State Buckeye Basketball team. We had a great time as usual and it was a great game. Almost everyone made it on the jumbotron. The kids had a blast with hotel tag and the Drury didn't eject them. Life lesson= it doesnt hurt to have a scalpers number in your speed dial.

I met him at an OSU v MICH party. I'm trying to get him to move to Van Wert. If you know of anyone (besides myself) that I can hook him up with please let me know... although we do look cute together? for some reason he was surprised to hear that I have facebook. Is that weird? doesn't everyone?

I haven't been blogging lately. been busy with everything. basketball is started and I love it. I have a new years date with William Buford. Can't wait to see him light up the court at the Schott. And that dreaded holiday Christmas -- soo much work goes into that one day. ugg.

KEBER FARMS won T102's free lunch friday! Bobblehead showed up with lunch for everyone in the neighborhood. Farmer Ted's are now in the running for a contest to win a bunch of farmer stuff. Thanks Vicki one more meal we don't have to prepare!

Tab War Finale

The Toledo Ronald McDonald House received a total of 1,819,224 tabs from the Tab War between Van Wert vs Archbold. This is almost 7% of the number of tabs collected all last year for the facility. End to end on a football field, these tabs could go 505.34 times back and forth. It was an awesome experience and a great cause. and in the end I found a long lost brother that my mother never told me about!

Tabs for Ty! challenge is winding down. We are having a McParty at McDonalds on Sat Oct 25 @ 12:00 for everyone. Tyler and his family will be there, friends, football players, and last but not least The Ronald McDonald himself. Please Come! Hopefully all of our hardwork pulling tabs will pay off and we beat Archbold!

Just when we are pulling it together, looking like a real football team - it's over. We ended 2-5. I wish we could play everyone over (except Defiance & Bath) like we are playing now and see how we do. there's always next year. And now we have a short break before never ending basketball begins.

Two weeks people! you have two weeks to get those tabs in. We have to hit 500,000! have to - we're close - 5 barrels.

Now I am going to add a pet peeve. Brandy has her shoe thing, I can have pet peeves.> People who feel like they can interject their unsoliciated opinions. Like that lady in the newspaper who cut people for sending in their letters for the school. Who cares who asked them to do it?! Nobody asked her! there's a fine line of that whole Freedom of speech business. I'm fine if she wanted to write in saying she didn't support the renewal but to rip on people who do really irked me? She wants to exercise her freedom of speech but cuts others for doing theirs.

Tyler made it to see his teammates beat the Knight train 30-6. So we are and always will be undefeated against them because we will never play them again in football. I wonder if the Cougars can join the NWC since we couldn't win in the WBL? Last game Thurs vs OG.

It's fall my second least favorite season and why because then it's winter my first least favorite season. The Booster Club has been preparing for the tailgate party and boy what fun we've been having. Please join us in fountain park before the St Marys game. We finally made it to Toledo to see Tyler, thanks to the Smelsers half van. Tyler looked great. He truly is working very hard to get to where he is. We were able to watch his speech session with his "hot" therapist. Now we know why he works so hard... more power to ya Ty! No wonder your dad never wants to miss a session?

Great news from the Priest camp in Toledo. Tyler is making some big progress with eating and walking. Good to hear. Keep saving the pop tabs. Keep posting to his blogsite. His mother reads those to him and she says he likes to hear it!
The 7th gr Cougars lost to Celina 24-6. Kyle Keber scored his first career touchdown. our little Halo friend Julian Salinas scored one too only to have it called back. He holds the record for called back touchdowns.

Back to school in Keberville. Mixed feelings. of course you want to see your friends but boy does it suck waking up every morning. Anyone who has been to Keberville before knows that we are in extreme fair mode so enter at your own risk. If you dont bring a 30 pack then dont come.
We are still doing all that we can for Tyler. collecting pop tops, eating Harry's chicken and playing wiffleball. As you know Keber Farms won the Tourney for Ty wiffleball tournament beating the unbeaten Jalepenos, not once but twice. They say it couldn't be done but me and the five other people that were still there at 1:00am can prove it.
Football is back and we are there. 7th gr football is quite a learning experience. Go Cougars.
